Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Andres Zavala studied at ELAOC where he completed his vocational Medical Assistant Program, and soon after returned to Pasadena City College where he has been working closely with Master Printer Stanley Baden, and other printmakers at the Pasadena Print Lab. His practice involves using a combination of different printmaking techniques, drawings and photographs to create accentuated imagery of his urban lifestyle, and to document the social constraints and conditions of the Los Angeles landscape and other gentrified areas. He is greatly inspired by weathered objects and the continuous change in architecture. His work is an attempt to preserve theses interesting circumstances. Andres has worked individually and collaboratively with artist and printers from all around the world, and is currently working as a printer for Seriopress. His work has been featured in the Hong Kong Graphic Art Fiesta and 3sheets. He has exhibited his work in the Los Angeles area, Hong Kong, Japan, and his work is in many private collections.
