From the Artist:

For these prints, I wanted to make a fragmented narrative that could be rearranged to tell multiple stories. I’ve been listening to and writing a lot of country music lately and I was particularly inspired by the songs of Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson, and Charley Crocket. I love the sense of danger and adventure in their songs and I tried to convey that through these prints. The titles of the prints are references to songs by those artists.


From the studio:

This was a fun edition to create! Luke has an excellent mind for printmaking and color which clearly shows in how he goes about constructing an image for print. A major element of these prints are how they relate to one another to create a greater narrative. With that in mind, we wanted to present the prints in a manner that would allow collectors to get them up on their wall quickly, and display them in a uniform manner.

To accomplish this the edition was first printed on a cotton rag paper for both the accuracy of registration and color that paper allows for. From there, they were carefully mounted by hand onto cradled birch panels using all archival materials. The result is a ready-to-hang trio of prints with all of the visual flair of an edition on paper. 


Artist Bio:

Luke Pelletier grew up in western North Carolina and currently works and resides in Los Angeles. He graduated with a BFA in fine art from the School of Art Institute Chicago in 2015.

Pelletier uses photography, painting, sculpture, social practice, and writing to explore his moral dilemmas of romance, addiction, tourist culture, masculinity, and Americana.

Luke Pelletier has exhibited internationally at galleries such as New Image & Antonio Colombo Gallery
